    Copy machine: 15 cents each for black & white, 30 cents for color for 8 1/2 x 11 sheet.

    Laptops are available for checkout to use within the library with a valid library card.

    Sit-down, full-color, auto-focus video magnifier unit available for public use in the library (16 levels of magnification).

    Volunteer Opportunities

    Volunteer Policy (pdf)

    Individuals interested in volunteering at the B&ECPL must fill out a Volunteer Application (pdf) and a Volunteer Liability Waiver and Release form (pdf).  Volunteers under the age of 17 will be designated as Junior Volunteers and must have parental approval to volunteer. 

    Volunteers will be accepted based on the library’s project and programmatic needs matched with the individuals’ qualifications/interests as determined during the selection process.  The library may not accept every volunteer application.  A background check and/or reference checking may be required before any volunteer can begin an assignment.


    Community Room Reservation Requests

    Community Room Reservation Requests are made online via a link on the Town of West Seneca web site .  West Seneca Public Library events and certain Town of West Seneca meeting functions receive priority for scheduling purposes.

    Beyond these West Seneca Public Library or Town events, the Community Room is intended for use for free public events, workshops, educational classes and meetings.  Documentation naming the Town of West Seneca as additional insured during a meeting/event will be required.  

    A representative of the West Seneca Public Library or Town of West Seneca will respond to the online Community Room Reservation Request as soon as possible.

    The West Seneca Public Library features 5 study rooms available for use during regular library hours.  The rooms are intended for informal individual or small group use and are not to be used for commercial purposes.  Rooms may be booked for up to 2 hours per day.  For more information or to book a time slot, please stop by the library or call us at 674-2928.

      January 2025- JANUARY REGISTRATION OPENS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13TH

      • Knitting & Crochet Circle (pdf)-  Mondays from 1:30-3:30 PM (in-person program).  Space will be limited.
      • Kids Craft: Boat Craft (pdf)- Kids ages 5-12 can join Miss Emily for a fun boat craft on Tuesday, January 7th at 5pm. Space will be limited and registration is required. Please call 716-674-2928 or visit the library to register or for more information.
      • Fuse Beads (pdf)- Thursday, January 9th from 5pm-6:30pm. Choose a design and create your own decorations with Perler Beads! Recommended for Ages 6+. Children under 6 years old must be attended by an adult.  All materials will be provided by the library.  Space will be limited and registration is required.       • Lego Club (pdf)-  Saturday, January 11th at 11am-12:30pm and Tuesday, January 28th from 5PM-6:30PM (where we'll be celebrating National LEGO Day!).  For ages 5 to 12. Free build with single-person Lego bins and selectable mini figures. Space will be limited and registration is required.       • Independent Preschool Story Time Ten Week Session (pdf)- Preschoolers (ages 3 1/2 to 5) can join Miss Emily for a 10-week parent-free Preschool Story Time at 6pm, starting on Tuesday, January 14th and 21st; February 11th, 18th, and 25th; March 18th and 25th; and April 1st, 15th, and 22nd. If you sign up, it is for all ten sessions! Space will be limited. Registering signs you up for every session for that time period- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
      • Baby & Me Twelve Week Session (pdf)- You and your baby (ages 0-24 months) can join Miss Emily for Baby & Me! Wednesdays at 9:30am or 10:30am on January 15th, 22nd, and 29th; February 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th; March 19th and 26th; and April 2nd, 9th, and 16th! If you sign up, it is for all twelve sessions! This program will take place in the library's Community Room. Space will be limited. Registering signs you up for every session for that time period- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
      • Book a Technology Trainer (pdf)- Need computer assistance?  We can help!  These free 45 minutes sessions are designed to assist with software support or Internet training. Our next sessions will take place on Tuesday, January 14th between 10am and 4pm. Topics include training on the Microsoft Office suite and even how to download books onto your tablet or phone. Sessions are on the hour, and registration is required by calling 716-674-2928 or stopping by the West Seneca Public Library information desk.
      • Family Story Time with the WNY Federal Credit Union (pdf)- Families with kids of all ages are welcome to join us at a Family Story Time on Saturday, January 16th at 6pm. This story time will be presented by the Western New York Federal Credit Union! Space will be limited. Registration is required- call the Library to register at 716-674-2928, or stop in to sign up.
      • DogMan Party (pdf)- Kids ages 5-12 can join us for a super fun DogMan Party! The party will take place on Saturday, January 18th at 2pm. Space will be limited and registration is required. Please call 716-674-2928 or visit the library to register or for more information.
      • Painting for Fun for Adults with the West Seneca Art Society (pdf)- Adults ages 17+ can join the Art Society for a fun painting program! This program takes place on Tuesday, January 21st at 5:30pm. All materials will be provided by the Art Society. Space will be limited and registration is required.       • Teen Escape Room (pdf)- Teens ages 11-17 can come to the library for a fun winter-themed escape room! The escape room will take place on Thursday, January 23rd with sessions available at 5pm and 6pm. Space will be limited and registration is required.       • Painting for Fun for Teens with the West Seneca Art Society (pdf)- Teens ages 12-17 can join the Art Society for a fun painting program! This program takes place on Saturday, January 25th at 11am. All materials will be provided by the Art Society. Space will be limited and registration is required.       • Seed Swap 2025 (pdf)- Do you have extra seeds? Oldies but goodies? Bring garden seeds that you would like to share or trade with others for FREE to the West Seneca Library! The Seed Swap will take place on Saturday, January 25th from 1:30-3:30pm in the Community Room. It's okay if you don't have any seeds to swap this year- help yourself to plenty of free leftovers! This event is sponsored by the Friends of the West Seneca Public Library!
      • West Seneca Public Library Book Club (pdf)- Monday, January 27th at 6:30 PM. Discussing The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Event takes place in the Makerspace.  For more information please contact the West Seneca Public Library at 716-674-2928.  Space will be limited.       • Toddler Time Twelve Week Session (pdf)- Toddlers (ages 2 to 3 1/2) can join us with their parent or guardian on Thursdays at 10am or 11am on January 30th; February 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th; March 20th and 27th; April 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th; and May 1st for Toddler Time!       • Author Talk: Lissa Marie Redmond (pdf)- Join local author Lissa Marie Redmond at the West Seneca Public Library on Thursday, January 30th at 6:30pm for an interesting and engaging author talk in the Community Room.       • Baby Rave (pdf)- Miss Emily will be hosing a baby rave in the community room on Monday, February 3rd at 6pm! This baby-friendly rave is for those ages 0-24 months and their caregivers. Baby raves teach young children about music and movement through a fun interactive experience! Space will be limited and registration is required.       Library of Things

      The West Seneca Public Library has a small collection of "things" other than books, DVDs, and CDs, that can be checked out at the desk.       Friends of the West Seneca Public Library

      The Friends of the West Seneca Public Library are community members with an interest in supporting the services offered by the library. The Friends also provide funding for books, programs and supplies for children and adults.  

      The Friends have an ongoing fundraiser!  Purchase a personalized, hand-carved wooden book which will be displayed in the library over the fireplace!  Full details here (pdf).

      Next meeting: The next Friends meeting will take place on Thursday, March 13th at 6:30pm in the West Seneca Public Library's Makerspace.

       

      West Seneca School Yearbook Collection

      The West Seneca Public Library now has several West Seneca school yearbooks (pdf) available for in-library use.  A list of the volumes included in the collection (along with volumes that we do not yet have) can be found via the link above.
