    Located on Buffalo Street (Route 62) between Pleasant Avenue and Union Street, this lively library is nestled in the village of Hamburg. If you are looking for a great film collection, preschool story hours or a comfortable place to catch up on the daily news, the Hamburg Public Library may be the place for you. 

    Our parking lot entrance is located on Union Street near the Buffalo Street intersection.

    Come visit our newly opened outdoor Reading Garden! The Garden is open from Spring into Fall.

    Free WiFi. 16 public access computers plus 2 laptops that can be checked out for use within the building. Networked printing including Mobile Printing is 10¢ per page B&W and 25¢ per page color. Copy machine at 25¢ per page.

    The Hamburg Library has a meeting room that can be available for community meetings. Please complete the following application and return to the main desk.

      DONATIONS UPDATE: The Hamburg Library accepts donations of books, DVDs and CDs. For more information on what can be donated, see our Donation Guidelines (pdf). Please bring any donations upstairs to the public service desk during open hours. Check out our ongoing Friends of the Library Booksale on the first floor of the library. Prices as marked.

      Game Night

      Come to the Hamburg Library for Game Night the second Thursday of every month! A variety of card games and board games will be available. This event is open to all ages. Feel free to join alone or bring along your friends!

      Kid Librarian

      Applications Currently On Hold

      For ages 8-12, our Kid Librarian program is a one-on-one opportunity for children to work with a staff member to curate a display of favorite titles, or a topic of their choice. The display is located in the Children's Area. We select a new Kid Librarian twice a month or as needed. Due to a large number of submissions, this program is not currently accepting new applications. Check back soon!

      Eight O'Clock Bookclub

      Thursday, February 6 from 6pm - 7:30pm at Hamburg Public Library

      Eight O'Clock Bookclub (EOC) is thrilled to partner with the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library! Quarterly in-person meetings, called Strangers to Booklovers, aims to build a vibrant local community of readers and library lovers alike. Each quarter, EOC will rotate to a different branch. This months book is Strange Sally Diamond by Liz Nugent. A remote link to join will be made available for those who cannot attend in person. Whether you're a long-time bookworm or new to reading groups, you're welcome to join! Check out EOC on Instagram.

      Book a Technology Trainer

      Friday, January 3

      Book a 45 min appointment for one-on-one assistance with a technology trainer from the TechKnowLab! Available topics include: Android Basics, Email, Cloud Services, Internet Basics, iPhone/iPad Basics, Microsoft Office Basics, Organizing Computer Files/Folders, Simple Digital Editing Online (audio & photos), Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), Using Google, and Windows Basics. Please note our technology training sessions are not for troubleshooting computer problems or repairing hardware. Space is limited, and registration is required.       Buffalo Museum of Science Passes

      Available at the Hamburg and Lake Shore Branches, each Buffalo Museum of Science Pass is valid for up to four individuals, one of whom must be an adult, 18 years or older. Passes are not eligible for special exhibits or special Museum events requiring additional fees. Passes circulate for ten days, must be checked out on an adult card and must be checked out from the owning library. Passes must be used within the ten days and returned to the Museum of Science upon your visit. Only one pass (for up to four people) can be checked out at a time per adult library card.

      Empire Passes

      New York State Empire Passes are available for seven day checkout, allowing entry of one vehicle to most facilities operated by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The Empire Pass does not guarantee parking when the park is at maximum capacity. This pass may not be used for entrance by multiple vehicles at one time. This pass does not guarantee free vehicle entry into a park when special events occur. The Empire Pass does not include a waiver of fees for camping, golfing, and other special activities. Passes must be picked up and returned in-person to the owning library.

      Hamburg Library Seed Share

      We have a large variety of flower, herb and vegetable seeds available for our community to grow at home, for free. The seeds currently available are due to generous donations from S.O.L.E. Seeds of Living Education, Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company, Seed Savers Exchange and Pase Seeds in North Collins. We encourage community members to save and donate seeds from harvest to help us maintain seed stock.       Discard Book Sale

      Check out our ongoing discard book sale located near the circulation desk! Books, CDs, and DVDs that have been discarded from the Hamburg Public Library are on sale for 25¢ an item.
