Public Access Computers: 14 computers, networked, including 3 laptops, printing 10¢ per B&W page, 25¢ per color page, flatbed scanner, Microsoft Office Applications, Internet Access, Misc. "What can I do at a Public Access Computer?"

    What's new in the library?

     

    • Book a Technology Trainer - Thursday, August 14th at 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM & 4 PM. Need computer assistance? We can help! These free 45 minute sessions are designed to assist with software support or Internet training. A variety of topics include training on the Microsoft Office suite and even how to download books onto your tablet or iPhone. Please register by calling 716-652-2719. 

    • Book Club - Wednesday, August 20th at 6:30 PM. The month's book selection is “A Nearly Normal Family” by M.T. Edvardsson. Stop by the library to pick up a copy of the book. All are welcome.

    • End of Summer Carnival - Thursday, August 21st at 2 PM. Join the crowd before our Carnival for ice cold refreshments provided by the Friends of the Elma Public Library! We will have popcorn and cotton candy, a face painting station, lawn games and so much more! Summer Reading Club Raffles and other prizes will take place at this time.     • Lego Club - Saturday, August 23rd at 1 PM. For all ages. Join us for some Lego-building fun and a visit with our reading dog Paddy! We provide the Legos, and you build! Please call 716-652-2719 to register.

    • Mocktail and Craft Night - Monday, August 25th at 6 PM. Join us for mocktails while we create fairy lanterns! Teens and adults welcome. Please register by calling 716-652-2719. 

    • Elma Cooks! Cookbook Club - Wednesday, August 27th at 6 PM. Join us for our cookbook club! Meet fellow foodies, cookbook enthusiasts and wonderful people who will enrich your culinary interests. This month's cookbook is “Good Lookin' Cookin': A Year of Meals - A Lifetime of Family, Friends, and Food” Browse the book and sign up at the front desk.

    • Capture the Light Workshop - Thursday, August 28th at 2 PM. Offered by the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center on Zoom. Flickering light through leaves, a spectacular sunrise, the changing seasons. How do artists capture the affects of light in painting from Impressionism to Abstract Expressionist art? Following an art presentation, participants are invited to paint their own interpretations of the beauty of light. Please register by calling 716-652-2719.

    • Adult Chair Yoga - Mondays, September 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th at 1 PM. Yoga in a chair?! Yes! You don’t need to get down on the floor to experience the benefits of yoga. This class will include both seated postures and standing postures that use a chair for support. All fitness levels are welcome. A yoga mat to place under the chair is recommended.     • K-3 Storytime & Craft - Wednesday, September 10th at 6:30 PM. Celebrate back to school! Turn the page on summer and dive into a new school year with fun, laughter, and imagination. There will be tales about first-day jitters, new friends, and classroom adventures, along with a simple craft and a fun game.     • Viva La Vida (Live Life) Art Workshop - Thursday, September 25th at 2 PM. Celebrate the art of Mexico’s most famous female artist -- Frida Kahlo. Learn about the what she and Lee Krasner share in common. Discover how Kahlo told the dramatic story of her life in amazing paintings.     • Book Club - Wednesday, September 17th at 6:30 PM. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, this month's selection is "How the Garcia Girls Lost their Accents" by Julia Alvarez. Stop by or call the library to place a hold on the book. All are welcome.
