Welcome to the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library (B&ECPL)! As part of its mission, the Library works to promote lifelong learning by encouraging all children and adults in their enjoyment of reading and discovery and by delivering timely, customer-oriented service to meet the informational, recreational and educational needs of the community.
To accomplish this, the B&ECPL provides the following services for teachers throughout Erie County. Library staff encourage teachers and their students to visit the nearest branch to take advantage of these many opportunities! Through the support of educational institutions, public libraries, family members and community organizations, the children of Western New York will receive the most rewarding and well-rounded education possible.

Bibliographies
The Children's Department has compiled book lists on a variety of heavily requested subjects, from adoption and divorce to adventure books and fantasy. These bibliographies are available online by visiting the Kids' Corner section of the B&ECPL's web site.
Kids' Corner and Teen Space
Did you know that the Kids' Corner and Teen Space sections provide links to web sites to help students complete their homework assignments? Whether looking for an online dictionary or help in using the Internet to do school work, students will find it on the homework pages.
Summer Reading Lists
The B&ECPL posts complete reading lists on its website each summer. Teachers simply need to provide the list in electronic format, formatted for printing, to webmaster@buffalolib.org. Click here to download 2009 Summer Reading Letter.
Teachers - guide your students to http://www.summerreadingnys.org. Click on "Be a Super Snooper!" This fun, interactive activity for children helps them explore one of NOVELny's best resources - Searchasaurus, an online encycleopedia designed just for kids. And, at the end of the quiz, there's a cool surprise!
Searchasaurus is easy and safe to explore, and full of information on everything from ballooning to ballet, from doughnuts to dinosaurs.
