Margaret M. Sullivan, Editor and Vice President of The Buffalo News, noted the challenges that face the newspaper industry in general, and The News in particular. She sees them running parallel to the changes affecting the industrial Great Lakes cities and region, especially Buffalo Niagara, yet offers reasons for optimism. The lecture was preceded by a presentation recognizing Stanford Lipsey, Publisher of The Buffalo News since 1983, for his efforts in fostering cultural heritage in the Buffalo Niagara region. (Note: Due to technical difficulties, only the beginning of the presentation was recorded.)
