Theme: Imagine Buffalo Niagara in the 21st Century

Francis R. Kowsky, author and retired SUNY Distinguished Professor of Fine Arts at Buffalo State College, (see his online publications) used images of works by many 19th century American landscape artists to show their influence on Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux in their design of the first American park system to make use of connected parkways—in Buffalo. The presentation highlighted the interrelationship of art, architecture, history, and nature in a harmonious fashion.
