The Rare Book Room collection contains a number of audio recordings related to Mark Twain, including Orson Welles’ radio broadcast adaptation of the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Another prized recording in the collection is the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra playing Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 7: Leningrad, which is not only the premier recording of this work, but also the first recording made by conductor William Steinberg with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the first recording made in Kleinhans Music Hall.
