MEDIA RELEASE

The Anna M. Reinstein Memorial Library, 2580 Harlem Rd, Cheektowaga, will be closed from Monday, March 12 through Sunday, March 25 for installation of new windows. The drop boxes at the Anna M. Reinstein Memorial Library will remain open for book and other material returns. Patrons may also return library materials to any other Buffalo & Erie County Public Library branch.

Third Annual Kickoff on March 1st to Highlight Month Long Calendar of Events
 

ERIE COUNTY, NY— Erie County and its Commission on the Status of Women, the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System and numerous partner organizations will kick off March as Women’s History Month at the downtown Central Library, 1 Lafayette Square, on Thursday, March 1, 2012.

BUFFALO & ERIE COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM WINTER READING 2012 ANNOUNCED

You don’t have to wait until the summertime to grab a hold of a great book. The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System announces its Winter Reading 2012 competition. Read a book, write a short online review and you are on your way to winning great prizes like a Kindle Fire, fleece blanket, travel mug or new books.

KENMORE BRANCH LIBRARY DELAYS REOPENING

The Town of Tonawanda Public Library – Kenmore Branch which was temporarily scheduled to be closed from January 23 thru February 5, 2012, will extend the closing due to construction.

The Library will now reopen on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.

MEDIA RELEASE LIBRARY SYSTEM BOARD 2012 OFFICERS ELECTED

The Board of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System released the following report after their monthly board meeting held recently at the downtown Central Library in Lafayette Square.

Officer Elections:

Jack Connors was elected chair for a one year term. He most recently served as vice chair. Mr. Connors is Publisher and President of Buffalo Business First and the Buffalo Law Journal.

KENMORE LIBRARY ON DELAWARE ROAD TEMPORARILY CLOSING FOR RE-MODELING

Extended Hours at Kenilworth Branch

 Delaware Road, will be more welcoming, replacing an outdated circulation desk, constructing a new children’s area and creating space dedicated to public computers. An inviting lounge will afford a quiet and relaxing environment. New entrance doors equipped with automatic door openers will be in compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

NEW HOURS FOR THE FRANK E. MERRIWEATHER LIBRARY

Please be advised of the following revised hours for the Frank E. Merriweather Jr. Branch Library, located at 1324 Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 12 – 8 p.m.

Friday 1 - 6 p.m.

Saturday 10a.m. – 6p.m.

Sunday 12 – 5 p.m. (Sunday hours run through April 29, the Library is closed on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012)
